The 23rd edition of the Nigeria economic summit group conference scheduled for October 10-12, 2017 will address issues around employment, productivity and opportunities in the economy.
Budget and National Planning Minister Senator Udoma Udo Udoma disclosed this at an International Press conference for the conference.
Senator Udoma said the summit will focus on initiatives that are geared towards improving the living conditions of Nigerians.
Speaking on the theme of the summit which is “Employment, Productivity and Opportunities”, the Budget Minister shared that the 2017 #NES will provide a platform to sharpen the conversation on how to deepen opportunities in actualizing the “Economic Recovery and Growth Plan”.
The Minister noted that the current administration was pushing for the sustainability of jobs that will drive growth in the nation’s economy.
Reviewing the theme of last year’s summit “Made in Nigeria”, Udoma asserted that “To continue to pursue the Made-In-Nigeria campaign, we must improve the quality of our products”.
According to him “The summit will create an action plan, with specific timelines for all stakeholders. Accountability frameworks will be set up”.
Giving further updates on the summit, the Minister said it will feature for the first time “Startups Pitching Event, which will connect new ventures seeking to raise funds with relevant investors to create opportunities for the youth”.
In the economic space, Senator Udoma restated the commitment of the Federal Government, to the implementation of the ERGP. He believed it was critical to achieving the diversification of the economy.
