Ethiopia has
been confirmed as the first country in Africa to host the World Economic Forum
(WEF), which is usually hosted at Davos-Klosters, Switzerland.
According to
the Ethiopian News Agency the founder of the World Economic Forum, Prof
Klaus Schwab discussed this with the Prime Minister, Mr Abiy Ahmed, with an
agreement to the Ethiopian hosting of the next summit.

Ethiopia had
requested for the second time last year to host the World Economic Forum on
African soil.
This marks a
significant milestone for the African nation credited with remarkable economic
reforms and transformation.
The annual
Davos World Economic Forum is the gathering of over 1,000 business and
political leaders across the globe, to chart fresh pathways for global economic
growth.
Africa will be
hosting the WEF for the first time since the inception of the summit in 1974.
