Equities market closed today on a positive note, as NSEASI appreciated by +0.57% to close at 42,169.41 basis points as against +0.83appreciation recorded previously. Its Year-to-Date (YTD) returns currently stands at +4.71%.

At the close of trading today, the NSEASI closed positive with +0.57% gain, extending the YTD gain to +4.17% from +4.12% at the close of trading yesterday.

 

In comparison to other global exchanges, the sentiment appeared mixed as some of the major indices are currently trading in green while some are in red.

 

In Europe, the UK FTSE 100, as at 3.55pm Nigerian time, has dipped by -0.58% (YTD +0.83%), German DAX dipped by -0.18% (YTD -1.59%), France CAC 40 up by +0.93% (YTD -2.79%), Italy's FTSE MiB up by +1.08% (YTD -3.98%).

 

In Asia, both the Japanese Nikkei 225 and the Shanghai indices are in red with -1.53% (YTD +2.74%) and -1.91% (YTD +0.92%) losses recorded respectively while in America, the S&P 500, NASDAQ and the Dow Jones are all in green with +1.07% (YTD +0.92%), +0.93% (YTD +3.92%), and +1.50% (YTD +0.50%) gains recorded in that order.
