As stated by the NSE, the Circuit Breaker protocol which was triggered by the increase of the NSEASI from 33,268.36 to 34,959.39  was aimed at preventing the market from volatile trading activities. The market reopened at exactly 1:25pm with a 10-minute intraday auction session, before resuming continuous trading till the close of the day at 2:30pm

The NSEASI eventually closed trading with a record growth of +6.23%.
