Abuja Chamber of Commerce to host the International Halal Industry Webinar on August 22, 2020

The Halal Industry, worth over 3 trillion dollars, is one of the most promising sub-sectors in the world today. With an estimated Muslim consumer of about 1.8 billion, making up to one fourth of the world's population, the demand for halal products and services is overwhelming. Also, with the expanding Muslim demographics, more industries are quickly picking up on the trend and tailoring their approach to reach this burgeoning market. However, Nigeria, with over 50% Muslim population is yet to get its claws into this growing industry.


This has informed the need for the International Halal Industry Webinar holding on Saturday the 22nd of August , organised by the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry with partners from Nigeria, Turkey, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Egypt, Tunisia, Morrocco, UAE, Saudi-Arabia, and the other  D8 Nations.


The webinar is in preparation for the 2021 Edition of the Halal Expo Nigeria scheduled to hold from 14th - 16th of September, 2021.


The Halal Industry webinar will feature over 22 distinguished Speakers in the Halal Industry from 10 Different Countries being moderated by Mike Okwoche, a popular Senior Anchor for TVC News.


The host, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, President Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry will deliver the keynote on the theme "Understanding the Nigerian Halal market and Economy."  With the Distinguished Guest Speaker, His Eminence Sheikh SHERIFF Ibrahim Saleh, CON. The Chairman Fatwa committee of NSCIA and Grand Mufty of Nigeria and the Chairman of FRACE(CBN). Other key speakers are Prof. Rafek Saleh of Malaysian Halal Consultancy and Training Agency; H.E. Mr. Abhay Thakur, High Commissioner of India to Nigeria Concurrently accredited to Benin, Chad & ECOWAS]; Norfadalizan Abdorahman, MD/CEO TAJ Bank; Mr. Mohd Khairy Maidin, Malaysian trade Commissioner in Lagos, Mrs. Moji Hasfat Bello, MD Halal Standard Development Trust; Professor Ibrahim Oreagba, Chairman, Halal Certification Authority; Sheik Mohammad Nurudeen Lemu, the Director of research and training at the Dahwah Institute of Nigeria and other great notable speakers.


The Webinar will cover multiple sectors of the Halal industry, ranging from Halal Food, Pharmaceuticals, Tourism, Literature, Manufacturing, Arbitration, Banking and Finance, Investment, Fashion and Cosmetics.
