Katsina State Govt Lifts Ban on Friday Prayers; To Be Conducted Under Stipulated Health Guidelines

The Governor of Katsina State has lifted the suspension placed on Friday Prayer. This was contained in a press release from the state government.

This follows a meeting held between the State Government, Religious Leaders, Traditional Rulers and Security Agents to review the measures taken by the Government to prevent the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the State.


His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, CFR, directed as follows:-


i) The suspension of Friday Prayers has been lifted with immediate effect but to be conducted under some stipulated health/security guidelines;


ii) The Juma'at Imams should however avoid prolonged sermons in order to discharge their followers within short period;


iii) People are also strongly advised to maintain social distancing and strictly adhere to all rules and regulations as provided by the health expert in fighting the contagious disease.
