The performance of African Stock
markets so far in 2017 has been very impressive, looking at the current YTD
performance, as most indices trade in the green zone.
A quick review of African stock
markets performance reflects that the Zimbabwe Industrials Index tops the
other African markets with +119.84% YTD gain and closely followed by Malawi All
Share Index and GSE Composite Index of Ghana with +62.14% and +51.37%
gains respectively while the Moroccan Casablanca Index records the least
gain of +5.80%.
However, Ivorian BRVM-10 records
the highest loss of -18.39% and closely followed by the Botswana DCI with -5.64% losses
in that order.
The Nigerian All-Share Index
currently records +43.34% YTD performances as at 22nd December,
2017 and fourth best
performing stock markets in 2017 as at the period under review.
