Sometimes, in the midst of chaos and confusion, lurks a precious gem. The story of Nigeria LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas), a company largely unfamiliar to many, fits this description.

About 20 years ago, the Nigerian government invested about $2.5bn dollars in the NLNG joint venture project. Today, that investment has grossed over $70 billion dollars.

Also, a technology that seemed alien to us at inception is now firmly indigenous, as Nigerian have gained the technical skills and taken over.

And the planned expansion (aka Train 7), will create huge, technical, well-paying jobs, and this may sound unbelievable, but true; will NOT require additional cash-call on government. NLNG has the balance sheet to fund the multibillion dollar investment.

So, why the delay, at the time Nigeria is groaning under the weight of youth unemployment?

Mr Babs Omotowa, the affable Managing Director of NLNG shares the stunning success story of this amazing company, as Guest on BUSINESS HOUR with Martin Udogie.
