As the biggest sporting event in the globe, the football world cup commences today in Russia, Proshare Nigeria’s leading financial and economic information hub is set to provide an “EcoFootball” analysis through its Proshare Economy platform.
There is a nexus between economy and football. Over the decades, the hosting of World Cups, investing in football clubs, payment of bonuses and allowances for players, investing in football leagues, football transfer/ fees and investing in football infrastructure have their impact on economies around the globe.
In the “EcoFootball” analysis for the 2018 world cup, Proshare Economy will provide analysis on 13 parameters for the 32 world cup teams participating in the mundial, covering: Population, GDP Size, FIFA Ranking, Name of the Team, Name of Coach/Annual Salary, Inflation rate, Unemployment rate, Foreign Reserves, Currency Value of Country to the US Dollar, Star Players, Team Captain/Annual Salary, GDP Per Capita Income and Highest level ever reached in previous World cups.
This is in line with Proshare’s mandate of education, empowerment and enlightenment and will be deployed as infographics.
It will also feature infographics showing the political-economic categorization of countries participating in the tournament.
Other aspects will be stories from the world cup and a daily analysis from the matches and scorelines, which will be deployed through the Proshare platform and social media handles more importantly twitter.
The World Cup begins today by 4pm Nigerian time with hosts Russia taking on Saudi Arabia.
