Following a recent publication by Sahara Reporters claiming a petition against the Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Nigeria, Mr Mounir Gwarzo that he allegedly paid himself a N104ml severance package, the commission has stated that it has been aware of the allegations since January, 2017.
The petitioner also alleged that the SEC Nigeria boss, awarded contracts to his companies and family members.
SEC Nigeria through its Head, Corporate Communications Mr Naif Abdulsalam giving an initial response, notified the entire public and Nigerian investment community that as a tradition, the Commission has followed all laid down rules and regulations in all its activities.
Addressing the current issue, the Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, according to Abdulsalam did not breach any relevant policy in this regard.
The Commission assured Nigerians and all Investors that an appropriate response to the allegations, will be made shortly.
Mr Mounir Gwarzo the D-G of SEC Nigeria was appointed by former President Goodluck Jonathan in Acting Capacity in January, 2015 and later confirmed by May, 2015.
