The price of Maize on the Exchange last week took a downturn as it dipped, closing at 13.17% low while underperforming against other commodities.

Maize, Soybean, and paddy rice international prices were up because farmers are hoarding the grains and expecting prices to go up through harvest and into the spring. Cocoa performed better than Maize continued to maintain the lead in the international market, with its price exceeding other commodities on a year-to-date basis with paddy rice taking a further plunge to its price on a year-to-date basis. However, in the open market, soybean maintained an upward trend following the price hike last week.

The ACI remained flat while the AEI grew slightly up until the 2021/2022 trading season.
