Grains on the Exchange closed in the green territory last week, returning gains as investors priced higher executed contracts.

However, we saw an opposite movement in the open market as Maize, Soybean, and Sorghum plunged marginally w-o-w, halting the upward trend seen in prior weeks. A similar trend was witnessed in Ginger and Sesame during the week.

Market players are betting a consistent rise in the prices of commodities in subsequent weeks as demand has shown to outweigh existing supply in the market. Reflecting market movements in commodities prices, the ACI and AEI were up marginally by 0.67% and 0.38% respectively.
