The Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce will in the coming week host various sessions focused on Bilateral Relationship, Winning at Business and the Real Estate Sector Post Covid-19.

For the Nigerian-British Bilateral Relationship Post Covid-19 themed session, speakers will address the challenges and opportunities that the COVID-19 pandemic presents to Anglo-Nigerian trade and investment.

 

The Webinar tagged will hold at 2pm on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 will also serve as a knowledge sharing forum for key business leaders to discuss innovative solutions needed to help businesses thrive during and after this crisis.

 

The World Trade Organization predicts that the pandemic will cause a double-digit decline in trade volumes across every region in the world in 2020. The implication of this decline in global trade is that the pandemic will undermine countries' efforts to foster increased trade and investment and will jeopardize economic growth and development plans.

 

In the session to be moderated by Mrs Bola Adesola, Senior Vice Chairman Africa, Standard Chartered Bank, the Chamber will engage:

 

  • British Deputy High Commissioner, Harriet Thompson and
  • President and Chairman of Council, Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce, Kayode Falowo

The Chamber will also host Construction and Real Estate stakeholders and players to its Webinar themed 'Resolving Real Estate and Construction Issues POST COVID-19'.

 

The impact of COVID-19 on real estate and construction is multi-dimensional. With the lockdown by Governments and forced closure of offices, malls and construction sites, several disputes are brewing amongst the various players. This Webinar will analyse these issues and proffer concrete and practical suggestions to the players in the Construction industry, Government, and other stakeholders on how to deal with related/emerging issues.

 

The Webinar is scheduled to hold on Wednesday 27th May 2020 at 2pm.  The Chamber would engage:

 

  • Nelson Ogunshakin, OBE, Chief Executive of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers, Geneva, Switzerland.
  • Olatunde Busari, SAN, Chairman, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK, Nigerian Branch and Managing Partner, Akinwunmi and Busari.
  • Francis Adetola, Former President, Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors and Director, FOAB, Cost Consultants and
  • Fola Olusanya, Partner and Head of Corporate Commercial Department, Jackson, Etti, Edu and Edu.

 

The session will be moderated by Hakeem Ogunniran, Chairman, Construction and Real Estate Group, Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce.
