Foreign investors’ participation in equity trading or foreign portfolio investment in the stocks of companies listed on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange is one of the key trading activities the Exchange gathers from major custodians and market operators monthly.

The participation of foreign investors in the Nigerian equities market seems to have gained momentum following the introduction of Investors’ and Exporters’ FX window by the CBN in April 2017. The FX window has really helped to ease FX scarcity and challenge in the market.

Foreign investors’ participation attains a peak growth of 284.76% in equity trading in March 2017, while the figure went down by -20.62% in the month of April 2017. However, the downward trajectory took a rebound in May

2017 with +134.57% growth and has maintained positive outlook ever since till October 2017 which happens to be the latest figure.
