The Nigerian-British Chamber of
Commerce (NBCC) in partnership with Andersen Tax, FCMB, Firstbank and Proshare
is set to host a Breakfast Meeting themed "Enthroning a Culture of Good
Governance" on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the Lagos Oriental Hotel by 08:00
am.
Corporate Governance has become a
burning issue all over the world and is believed to be one of the main
causalities in corporate scandals in most countries including Nigeria. The NBCC Breakfast Meeting
which is a forum that brings together policymakers, business leaders and
stakeholders to exchange ideas about economic and organisational issues in
Nigeria, will address salient themes such as global trends and best practices
in Corporate Governance, its significance on business responsibilities,
organisational performance, investment and corporate culture.
Speakers lined up for the event includes: Prof. Fabian
Ajogwu, Founding Partner, Kenna Partners; Mr Daniel Asapokhai, Executive
Secretary/CEO, Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria; Dr. Nechi Ezeako,
Executive Director/CEO, IoD Centre for Corporate Governance; Prof. Nat Ofo,
Professor of Corporate Law & Governance and IT Law, Igbinedion University
and Mrs Bisi Adeyemi, Managing Director, DCSL Corporate Services Limited.
Speaking on the upcoming
programme, the Director General of the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce, Ms
Bunmi Afolabi stated that "the Breakfast Meeting will provide an opportunity
for key business leaders to engage, foster business relationships and promote
good governance practices in their individual organisations.
