Prof. Nat OFO
- Professor of Corporate Law &
Governance, Igbinedion University
Prof. Nat Ofo
is a Professor of Corporate Law and Governance at the Department of Business
Law, College of Law, Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State. He joined
Igbinedion University, Okada, from Nigerian Breweries Plc (a subsidiary of
Heineken N.V. of The Netherlands) where he occupied Middle Management and
Senior Management positions in the legal, finance, supply chain, human resource
and company secretarial functions during his 14-year career at the company.
While he was the Company Secretary/Legal Adviser of Nigerian Breweries Plc, he
was also a Director of NB Registrars Limited (a then subsidiary of Nigerian
Breweries Plc).
He is Fellow
and a past President of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and
Administrators of Nigeria and remains a member of its Governing Council. He is
also a member of the Board of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). At the
Institute of Directors (IoD) Nigeria, he is a Fellow and a member of its
Executive Committee (ExCo). He was a member of the Board of the Association of
Professional Bodies of Nigeria.
Professor Nat Ofo has a passion for corporate governance, which was the focus of his doctoral thesis. As a prolific writer, he has written numerous refereed articles on corporate governance and other law-related issues in several learned journals and business periodicals, locally and overseas. Furthermore, Professor Nat Ofo was the Vice Chairman of the Steering Committee commissioned by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2013 to harmonise the numerous corporate governance codes in Nigeria and develop a National Code of Corporate Governance for the country. He was a member of the Technical Committee, appointed by the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria in 2018 to review the suspended National Code of Corporate Governance, which developed the Nigerian Code of Corporate Governance 2018.
As a public speaker and presenter, he has delivered numerous papers at conferences,seminars and workshops on corporate governance and law-related issues. In addition, he facilitates the corporate governance component of the training programmes of the Institute of Directors (IoD) Nigeria and the IoD Centre for Corporate Governance (a joint project of IoD Nigeria, Securities and Exchange Commission and Corporate Affairs Commission). He is also a member of the Working Group of the Corporate Governance Network in Nigeria. He is the author of the Amazon bestseller, Independent Directors: 111 Frequently Asked Questions Aptly Answered.
Ms. Bisi
ADEYEMI - Managing Director, DCSL Corporate
Services Limited
Bisi Adeyemi
is the Managing Director of DCSL Corporate Services Ltd. Bisi holds an MBA from
the Lagos Business School, Pan Atlantic University. Prior to joining DCSL, Bisi
was the Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary with a downstream oil and gas
company. Before then, she was the General Counsel with a multinational dredging
company.
As the
Managing Director of DCSL, she oversees a diverse clients' portfolio drawn from
the various sectors of the Nigerian economy. She has been team lead on various
governance engagements including governance reviews, board performance
evaluation and director up skilling. She also has varied experience in
litigation, Corporate and Commercial law practice and has worked on various
engagements spanning corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, foreign
investment regulatory procedures and due diligence procedures.
Bisi is a
member of the Nigerian and International Bar Association, the Society for
Corporate Governance Nigeria and an Expert-in-Residence at the Enterprise
Development Centre of the Pan Atlantic University. Bisi has attended leadership
trainings at the Harvard Business School, Wharton School, Pennsylvania and the
Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, Illinois.
She is a member
of the Institute of Directors (IoD) and facilitates Director Development
Programmes at the IoD. Bisi also serves on the Executive Council of the Women
in Business, Management and Public Service (WIMBIZ) and is the Deputy President
at the Nigerian British Chamber of Commerce.
Bisi is a
Corporate Governance Expert and has acted as Lead Facilitator on several
Director Development Programs, and Board Induction Programmes. Her speaking
experience cuts across clientele in all sectors of the Nigerian economy ranging
from Banking, Manufacturing, Pension, Insurance, Oil and Gas and Services. Bisi
anchors a Weekly Column on Corporate Governance in BusinessDay Newspapers.
Mr. Nkem
IHEANACHOR - Senior Lecturer, Lagos Business
School
Nkemdilim
Iheanachor has a bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering as well
as MBA and MPhil degrees from Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos. He is currently
completing his PhD work in the International Strategy Department of the same
university. As a Faculty and member of Lagos Business School's Strategy group,
he has extensively researched and consulted in areas such as competitive
strategy, corporate strategy, blue ocean strategy, balanced scorecard
development and deployment and international business. He has also been a
researcher in LBS' Sustainable and Inclusive Digital Financial Services (SIDFS)
Initiative where he has led research projects, industry engagements,
stakeholder events and convenings that aim to narrow Nigeria's financial
exclusion gap. He recently concluded a course on Microeconomics of
Competitiveness in Harvard Business School, USA.
He is currently a member of Academy of International Business and has to his credit several journal articles, award-winning case studies and book chapters published in reputable international journals and books. He has been a reviewer for International Marketing Review, Thunderbird International Business Review and Journal of Business Research. He has prior experience in Banking as a Relationship Manager in the Multilateral, Conglomerates and Private Banking Group of Zenith, as an Investment Banker where he was involved in project finance, mergers and acquisitions and financial advisory and as a Consultant where he was involved in business advisory engagements for state governments, large multinationals and local corporates.
His current
consulting work spans companies in financial services, real estate, technology,
oil and gas, marketing communications, aviation, telecommunications, consumer
markets and retail industries across Africa.
