The
Lagos State Government, in line with the Federal Government's directive on the
restriction of movement, placed restrictions on non-essential
suppliers/manufacturers as contained in the Infectious Diseases Regulation
signed by the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu
on the 27th, March, 2020.
Accordingly,
the Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives hereby affirms
the exemption of the entire supply chain (either imported or locally produced)
of the following providers of essential goods and services that are duly
recognized by the MAN (Lagos Zone):
- Personal care
and household hygiene products: disinfectants, sanitizers, detergents, soaps,
toilet roll, tissue paper, sanitary towels shaving sticks
- Pharmaceuticals
and their additives
- Personal
Protective Equipment (PPE): Fire Safety Equipment, Rubber Gloves, Masks, Safety
Goggles, Overalls.
- Medical and
surgical instruments and equipment including their components
- Power
generation, transmission and distribution. (vi)Petrochemicals, Oil and Gas.
- Materials used
for packaging including ink and labels, foam plugs for packaging
pharmaceuticals, adhesives, shrink film, metal closure, caps for packaging,
foil, plastic, glass and paper
- Chemical
additives to service other essential sectors
- Fire, security
and janitorial goods and services
- Food
Processing:

It must
however be expressly stated that all exempted essential goods suppliers/
manufactures must ensure strict compliance with the following COVID-19
regulations:
- Compulsory
temperature checks during access control of employees into company premises
- Mandatory
refusal of symptomatic employees into work place
- Full
implementation of personal hygiene of employees
- Full
implementation of production plant and work place hygiene
- Social
distancing in the work place including the production plant
- Provision of
means of identification of employees (which must be carried at all times on and
off workplace premises)
- No line of
production or operational convergence of more than twenty (20) individuals as a
cluster is allowed, irrespective of essential nature of goods and services.
