Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON and Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu will be special guests at the 7th Christopher Kolade Lecture on Business Series.
The event scheduled for Friday, June 28th, 2019 at the Imperial Hall, Lekki Coliseum, Lekki, Lagos will address issues of leadership, governance and their implications for fast-paced economic growth.
The Lecture’s theme is “Governance, Leadership & Ethics: How to build a thriving economy” and is organized by the Convention on Business Integrity.
It will have as keynote speaker Mr. Bolaji Balogun, MD/CEO of Chapel Hill Denham Group, Mr. Olufemi Awoyemi, Chairman/Founder Proshare Nigeria Limited, will be the guest speaker.
The one-day conference hosted by the CBI is in collaboration with SCRAP-C project funded by UK-Aid.
Sessions at the conference include; “Fitness for Purpose-Nigerian Justice in Transition,” “Effective Board Leadership: Role of the Corporate Governance Rating System” and “Ethics or Expediency: Survival of the fittest or by doing things right.”
The target audience for the conference include;
The event features two parts; the morning session beginning from 9.00am to 4.00pm, which will focus on the “Governance, Leadership & Ethics: How to build a thriving economy” and the evening session scheduled to start at 6.00pm which will focus on “Business Integrity.”
The Convention on Business Integrity was established in 1997, as an organization with the mission of promoting ethical business Practices, transparency and fair competition in the private and public sectors. Signatories of the Convention undertake to observe the values of the Code of Business Integrity, both within their organizations and in their dealings with customers and partners. The code includes both sanctions and incentives for the organizations involved.
Over the past three (3) years the Convention has continued to gain support and followers in Nigeria including global recognition as an innovative and positive contributor to Africa’s drive towards global best practices in corporate and public sector governance.
