The University of Lagos over the weekend emerged the overall winner of the 2020 Chartered Financial Analyst Society of Nigeria, CFA Institute Research Challenge.
At an event hosted at the Civic Centre, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island, Lagos UNILAG as the champion will now represent Nigeria at the Europe, Middleast and Africa (EMEA) regional finals in the Kingdom of Jordan.
For the 2020 CFA Institute Research Challenge finals twelve (12) Universities participated in the competition.
Obafemi Awolowo University, Ille-Ife, Osun State clinched the first runner up position in the competition, while University of Ibadan took the second runner up position.
The President of the CFA Society Nigeria Mr Banji Fehintola said the institute was committed to building future professionals in the country, by investing in the challenge,
He was of the view that the growth and development of the Nigerian capital and financial market hinged on people who had requisite skills to move it forward.
The CFA Nigeria Institute 2020 Research Challenge gives students the opportunity to access mentors in financial analysis and professional ethics and also get trained intensively.

It featured report writing, presentation skills, valuation and analytical skills as some of what the participating students were evaluated upon.
Nigerian financial services giant Zenith Bank was the major sponsor of the challenge which is part of its drive to see innovation, professionalism and excellence in the industry.
