Guest Profile:
Chief Bamidele Alimi is the DG/CEO of the Institute of
Directors Nigeria. He is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School and member of
other professional and social organizations like the Nigeria Institute of
Management, the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations and Rotary International.
Prior to joining IoD Nigeria, he was the pioneer Managing
Director of Clarion Events West Africa (A Division of Clarion Events, UK). He
also worked with Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where he was Director,
Membership & Trade Promotion and Director, Trade Promotion and
International Relations at different times.
Apart from his academic qualifications, he has attended many
training programmes here in Nigeria and outside the country. These include the
Company Direction Courses I & II of the Institute of Directors, Nigeria
& UK, Advance Company Direction Course of the IoD Nigeria, Advance
Management Programme of the prestigious Lagos Business School amongst others.
Bamidele is a prolific administrator with over thirty years
cognate experience and has special interest in the governance, leadership,
management of Business Membership Organizations (BMOs) and management of
Exhibitions, Conferences and Events.
He has worked in many sectors of the Nigerian economy
including Journalism, Marketing Communication, Banking & Finance,
Agriculture & Agro-Allied and Manufacturing
He had served on the Board of Clarion Events West Africa
Limited and he is currently on the Board of the IoD Centre for Corporate
Governance, a company limited by guarantee jointly founded by IoD Nigeria,
Corporate Affairs Commission and the Security & Exchange Commission.
Dele is also the Vice Chairman of the African Corporate
Governance Network.
He is married with children and member of LBS Alumni
Association, Rotary International and Ikoyi Club 1938.
