The Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) Society in Nigeria is set to host its Global Investments Performance Standards (GIPS) market sensitization session at the Wheatbaker Hotel, Lagos on June 22nd, 2018 from 8am to 1.30pm.
The session is organized to carry out a market sensitization exercise that will provide industry players, with an overview of the GIPS standards, benefits of its adoption, impact of adoption in other countries, essential steps to adoption and timeline, core areas and key data requirements.
Experts from CFA Institute will be anchoring the event and there will be a Q&A session to encourage audience engagement and participation.
Stakeholders in the financial services and capital market space are expected to attend alongside key regulators.
The event is organized by the Investment Performance Company Nigeria LTD/GTE being GIPS country sponsor for Nigeria.
Recall that on February 04, 2005; the CFA Institute Board of Governors approved the revised Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS), which created a single global standard of investment performance reporting and increased minimum standards worldwide.
The GIPS standards replaced the various region-specific performance standards and are widely accepted among the international industry of investment managers.
Since their introduction in 1999, the GIPS standards have gathered momentum with investment management firms worldwide adopting these voluntary, ethical standards for calculating and presenting historical investment performance.
Strong partnerships with GIPS sponsors to promote and educate the GIPS standards have greatly contributed to the global reach of the Standards.
Proshare WebTV are media partners to the event.
