The launch of CoinNewsExtra TV will lead to increased enlightenment and education of Nigerians on the value of Blockchain, Crypto Assets and the entire Fintech Industry.

 

Chief Operating Officer of Fintech Association of Nigeria, Dr. Babatunde Obrimah said this at the official unveiling of the CNETV and App at a hybrid event in Lagos.

 

Dr. Obrimah said the only way for Nigeria to advance is going digital, even as he said that digitization could reasonably reduce the menace of corruption in the country.

 

According to him CNETV has the mandate of educating Nigerians on the total fintech ecosystem from wealth-tech, ed-tech, agri-tech , to blockchain and crypto-assets.

 

The Founder, Blockchain Nigeria User Group, Mr Chuta Chimezie, described CNETV as a laudable initiative and a promise child that has lived up to its expectation.

 

He believed that Blockchain and Crypto assets presents an opportunity for achieving economic transformation in Nigeria and Africa.

 

Chimezie called for an enabling environment that supports more entrepreneurs that are creating economic opportunities in the country through sectors like technology.

 

Senator Ihenyen of the Stakeholders in Blockchain Technology Association of Nigeria, SIBAN commended the CNETV for the feat of becoming the first 24/7 digital TV platform in Nigeria covering Fintech and developments in the digital currency space.

 

He stressed the need for Nigeria to leverage blockchain and crypto assets to drive its economy and governance process, he decried the manner in which digital platforms have been misrepresented.

 

Speaking further he tasked the new digital TV on objectivity in its reporting on developments and issues around cryptocurrency and its impact on the economy.

 

Mr. Paul Ezeafulukwu the former President of SIBAN,  noted that the blockchain technology has afforded the nation the opportunity to transform the public sector and drive efficiency.

 

He stressed the fact that that the internet has created  opportunities for countries like Nigeria to  lift millions of people from poverty by leveraging technology.

 

Professor H. C . Joerg Molt  the Author of the book "Generation Bitcoin" in his remarks was optimistic that CNETV would serve as a bridge-builder for the cryptocurrency market.

 

He added that the digital economy presents an opportunity to deepen economic growth and financial inclusion in Nigeria and across Africa.

 

The CEO of CNETV Mr. Lee Ucheoma Ohaeri said the App for the digital platform took 5 months to develop and would be dedicated to providing real-time information on Blockchain and Crypto assets.
