Event Overview
Organizations are increasingly requiring schedule risk analysis in advance of key decision points to make sure they have a realistic view of their project’s timeline. They realize there is something beyond the static CPM schedule. Projects often overrun their schedules because the schedule is not the idealized perfect schedule but is influenced by forces that lead to an infeasible plan from the beginning. Both good quality project scheduling and risk analysis will provide a complete picture of the prospects for the project’s timeline.
The project scheduler and project manager need to know the Scheduling Best Practices and assure himself that these are being applied. Schedule risk analysis is a tricky subject for some organizations that have not yet adopted the concept and practice, although it has been available for over 20 years. Management has a pivotal role in making risk analysis a successful and managers need to know what they do to facilitate or hinder the exercise
