Unilever declares N1.07 dividend

 

Following an improved performance posted in its audited result for the year ended December 31,2009, Unilever Nigeria Plc has posted N1.07 per share dividend due to every shareholder of the company.

 

 

Presenting its result to the council of the Nigerian Stock Exchange and their shareholders last week, the company's audited result for the year ended December 31,2009 showed a turnover of N44.5 billion, up from N37.4 billion recorded in 2008 while profit after tax stood at N4.1 billion, compared to N2.6 billion in 2008. Based on this, the company's directors are recommending a dividend of N1.07 per share. The date of closure of register for members is stated as April 6, 2010 while payment is due for May 3,2010.

 

 

Similarly, RT Briscoe Nigeria Plc's audited result for the year ended December 31,2009 showed a turnover of N15.2 billion, as against N20 billion recorded in 2008. The company's profit after tax and exceptional items stood at N288.3 million, compared to a profit after tax of N628.02 million in 2008. The directors of the company is recommending a dividend o N0.10 and a bonus of 1 for every five shares held. The date of closure of register for members is stated as April 19,2010 while payment is due for July 6,2010.

 

 

For GlaxoSmithKline Consumers Plc, its directors are recommending a dividend of N0.75 per share based on the audited result for the year ended December 31,2009. According to the report the date of closure of register for members is stated as April 30,2010, while payment date would be announced.

 

 

May&Baker Nigeria Plc is expected to post a turnover of N1.1billion and a profit after tax of N23.2million during the first quarter ending March 31,2010. The company's turnover during the half year ending June 30,2010 is also expected to hit N3.4billion, with a profit after tax of N230.1 million. Evans Medical Plc is expected to post a turnover of N2.7billion and a profit after tax of N157.6 million during the half year ending June 30,2010 while RT Briscoe plc's turnover as well as profit after tax during the half-year ending June 30,2010 is expected to hit N8.2billion and N151.2 million.
