x-Afribank CEO moves to quash EFCC’s charges against him

The former Chief Executive Officer of Afribank Plc, Sebastian Adigwe, has urged a Federal High Court in Lagos presided over by Justice Dan Abutu to quash the corruption charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Adigwe who was arraigned alongside a stockbroker and Managing Director of Falcons Securities Limited, Peter Ololo, claimed that the charges against him were frivolous, vexatious and aimed at intimidating him.

Adigwe in the application filed by his counsel, Tony Idigbe (SAN), noted that the proof of evidence filed along with the charges disclosed no prima facie case (cause of action) against him and that the charges were intended just to harass, annoy and frustrate him.
