CBN names four new executive directors for FinBank
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has approved the appointment of four new Executive Directors for FinBank Plc. They are Mr. Omoruyi Iyamu, Mr. Abdulrahman Yinusa, Mrs. Caroline Anyanwu and Mr. Adam Nuru.
A statement from the Bank said Iyamu is the Executive Director, South, with his scope of supervision covering institutional, commercial and retail banking, while Nuru is the Executive Director, North, covering public sector, commercial and retail banking.
Anyanwu is in charge of Risk Management, while Yinusa takes charge of finance and strategy.
Iyamu has 25 years experience in banking and financial services, with skills in credit marketing, corporate finance, financial advisory services, treasury and asset management.
He was until the appointment, the Managing Consultant of Capstone Capital Limited, a financial and investment consultancy. He holds a bachelor's degree in Finance (1979), and an MBA in Finance and Management (1981) from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, USA and has attended several courses locally and abroad.
He started his banking career in Nigeria in February 1985 in International Merchant Bank and later worked for UBA Trustees and Diamond Bank. He left Diamond Bank in October 2004 to establish Capstone Capital Limited.
Similarly, Nuru was before the current appointment, the Group Head, Enterprise Management of First City Group, overseeing Human Resources, Administration and Logistics, Quality Control and Branch Development.
His experience also spans commercial banking, public sector and corporate finance. He holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, majoring in Finance, as well as Certificate in Systems Analysis, Design and Programming.
He is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management and the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
Until her appointment as an Executive Director in FinBank, Anyanwu was the Head, Group Risk Management & Control of Diamond Bank Plc, with over two decades of hands-on experience in risk management, commercial banking, operations and financial control.
She has a First Class degree in Statistics from the University of Ilorin and won the Second Place Overall Merit Award for ICAN Professional Examination II in May 1988.
Prior to this appointment, Yinusa was the Managing Director UBA, Sierra Leone. His areas of competence span from financial control, treasury, asset management and information technology.
He has a bachelor's degree in Accounting from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and two Master's degree in Economics and Business Administration, respectively from the University of Lagos.
Yinusa is a member of various professional bodies, which include Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, and Nigerian Institute of Management.
The Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Suzanne Iroche said the new management team will focus its business strategy on key areas of competence and comparative advantage as well as entrench sound corporate governance and a robust risk management framework.
