Stanbic IBTC Pension Disburses N16bn to Retirees


The Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers Limited has paid about N16 billion as benefits to various categories of retirees in Nigeria


Addressing retirees at a forum in
Kano, the Managing Director of the pension outfit, Mr. Obinnia Abaju said the organisation has settled the benefits of  over 5000 retirees in the country, adding that it is the policy of IBTC Pensions not to allow retirees to retire into sorry state or agony.
Abaju pointed out that IBTC Pension is at present managing over 700,000 retirees savings account, with 13,000 retires getting their benefits on a monthly basis.


He said the company organises regular forum to enlighten account and non account holders on the benefits of good retirement, stressing that the forum is also conveyed with the objective to carry the retirees along and for them to appreciate the goodwill of the bank through their patronage.  


The managing director explained that the company had the challenge of language barrier at its initial stages of reaching out to customers through across the county, adding that it is overcoming that challenge at present.


The IBTC Pension’s boss revealed that in the present round of customers’ fora, the company is visiting about two states to acquaint the retirees and account holders about the benefits derivable from a relationship with IBTC Pension Managers Limited. He pointed out that the next round will be in five locations including Jos,
Enugu and Abuja.
