Dozie replaced as Diamond Banks chairman

The Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, has been appointed as the new Chairman of Diamond Bank Plc.


According to a bank statement released on Sunday, Achebe replaces the bank’s founding chairman/chief executive, Mr. Pascal Dozie, who retires from his current position as board chairman after 15 years in service.


Dozie will take up another appointment as the Chairman of the newly established Diamond Bank Group Advisory Board, which will be the pioneer advisory board in the Nigeria’s financial services sector.


The bank explained that the setting up of the Advisory Board is a strategic decision of the board and management to ensure optimal development and growth of the key business entities of the Diamond Bank Group.


Achebe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Stanford University, California; and a Masters in Business Administration from Columbia University, New York.

He was a former Executive Director at Shell Petroleum Development Company and Senior Corporate Adviser, Shell International, London.

He has also served as a director in many multinationals and reputable organisations, including The Petroleum Training Institute, Warri, Shell Ghana Limited; National Oil & Chemical Company Nigeria and Unilever Nigeria Plc.
