28TH AMERC MEETING IN MOMBASA KENYA
A strong SEC Nigeria delegation will attend the 28th edition of AMERC’s annual regional meeting / conference which will take place in the picturesque Leisure Lodge Resort in the Diani – Ukunda suburb of Mombasa, Kenya’s commercial capital. Ms. Arunma Oteh will lead the delegation.
The SEC Nigeria’s high – powered delegation reflects our commitment to the ideal of regional co – operation in matters relating to capital market regulation. This ideal is further expressed by the near permanent residence of AMERC’s secretariat in SEC Nigeria. Beyond its traditional role in furthering camaraderie, partnership and constructive collaboration amongst member countries, the theme for this year’s meeting: Regional Cooperation for Capital Market Stability: Harmonization of Regulatory and Policy Frameworks speaks to the need for higher levels of collaboration and deeper relationship to enhance oversight across the region.
“The forum offers an opportunity to reflect on the various activities and developments in our markets, situate these developments within the global scheme of things and prepare for the future” informs Ms. Oteh.
David Wright, the new Secretary General of IOSCO, will join other distinguished participants at the conference.
