On behalf of the Governing Council, Members, Management and staff of The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, we are pleased to invite you as a Guest to the Institute’s 2011 Annual Bankers’ Lecture, scheduled as follows:

                        PC 19, Adeola Hopewell Street,

                        Victoria Island, Lagos.

The theme of this year’s Lecture is “Building a Resilient Financial System to withstand External Shocks: Lessons from selected Economies”.

The Guest lecturer is Mr. George Lewis, Chairman and Portfolio Manager, Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), Global Asset Management. He will be supported by Mr. Ivan Restrepo, Senior Investor Manager, RBC, Switzerland and Mr. Nolan Farly, Ag. Head, RBC, Wealth Management Africa Team.

The Chairman of the occasion is Mr. Phillips Oduoza, HCIB, Group Managing Director/Chief Executive, United Bank for Africa Plc.

The Annual Lecture is part of the Institute’s contributions to national development and it is usually designed to address topical contemporary issues in the Nigerian economy. You will recall that Canada was one of the few countries not affected by the global financial meltdown and Nigeria has a lot to learn from her.

The Lecture attracts chieftains of the banking and finance industry, top public officials, Diplomats, the academia and the organized private sector.

Admission is free and attendance will attract 5 unit credit for professional members of the Institute.
