Access Bank has emerged as the overall winner in the “best web content” category of the 2010 edition of the annual website Web Jurist Award conducted by Philips Consulting. The award ceremony held in Lagos on Wednesday, February 16, 2011.
In the Best Aesthetic category, Access Bank came up tops behind UBA and First Bank, an improvement on previous year’s performance. The Bank was also rated overall third best website with Zenith Bank and Skye Bank taking the first place and first runner up positions respectively.
The awards came on the heels of the launch of the re-vamped Access Bank Plc website built on Microsoft Share Point technology with integrated work flow systems for effectively managing and providing its online audience with accurate, fresh and valuable information.
The web jurist awards which commenced in 2001, evaluates the effectiveness and performance of Websites of Nigerian websites based on set criteria agreed by e-business experts from Philips Consulting. Winners are selected in categories that include: Aesthetics; technical aspects; site content, e-financial services, customer experience and performance. The award also recognizes other organizations across Banks, discount houses, telecommunication and insurance firms.
According to the representative of the Bank at the award ceremony “Winning the best web content award is a significant accomplishment and demonstration of the Bank’s commitment to providing its online stakeholders with accurate, relevant and timely information at all times.
