I was a portfolio holder with Stanbic IBTC. IBTC sold my Oceanic shares (46,300 shares) on 11 Feb. 2009 and bought the shares back on 29 April 2009. Oceanic declared bonus of 1 for 10 on 5 Aug. 2009. I am I entitled to the bonus? I sent my representative to ask Oceanic, the reply was that I was not entitled to bonus.Please help.

The last 1:10 bonus declared by Oceanic Bank before the change of management is still oustanding, is it still valid since the AGM had not been held to ractify the proposal?

Many thanks for your news mail about the interim financial report for the 3rd Quarter of Oceanic Bank Plc.While we can all agree Oceanic Banks is in a very dire financial situation , I think we can get a more accurate indicator of the financial position of oceanic bank plc in the 4th Quarter of 2009 taking into consideration recent increase in recoverables from non performing loans if any plus increase in customer fund deposits on the banks balance sheet as reorted in the media by the banks management.This might not be unconnected from the increasing investors confidence which has been driving the share price higher of oceanic bank since the beginning of Jan 2010, although its still premature to deduce what is driving this increasing sentiment as the bank is still on a very long road to recovery provided the right banking management team can steer this bank back from the brink.Other possibilities could be a possible acquisition by foreign or local bank simmering some where in the back ground but only time will tell whats in the offing.

pls i want to know which other way that i can get my last yr div.this is bcos my div was wrongly credited to someone ealse oceanic bank a/c instead of mine a/c in the same bank. this happen thru e-dividend by usl registrars ltd. i have been fighting with access and oceanic bank over this issue for the past 3months now. oceanic bank told me the money has been revers that access bank is to credit me thru e-paymnt which access bank said they ar working to knw were oceanic bank revers the money to. this is 1 month now they ar lookin for were oceanic bank revers it to. another painfull one is that my 2007 div warrant was cleard in umuahia abia state by some ealse said the registrar wen i laid my complain of not recieving my 2007 div warrant. this is my 20th way to communicate to access bank which i hav not got response.To confirm my complain, pls use my name for any enquiry: OKOLO CHUKWUMA.pls who can read this story for me and tell me the confidents we should have with our nig bank.

With the recent scandal involving the CEO, the share of Oceanic bank has gone from bad to worse. The share of oceanic bank was N21 in Q1 of 2008 and now N2.85. Comparing this bank to GTB, Zenith etc, is there any confidence left with the management of this bank. Hard earned money is melting away and no dividend since 2008. Is there any hope for this bank?
